The cheese included in our hampers is made fresh and have an approximate refrigerated shelf life of 23 days, indicated by the 'best by' date. Cheese ripens and develops its characteristic flavours over time, so it will be at its peak flavour when enjoyed close to this date.
Don't worry if the cheeses in your hamper are nearing their 'best by' date; this simply means your cheese-loving recipient can savour a mature and full-flavoured cheese! The 'best before' date should be regarded as a guideline, as it is not the same as a 'use by' date. In fact, cheese often improves with age!
If you decide to enjoy your cheese at a later date, use your best judgment. Generally, if a cheese looks and smells good, it is likely to taste good as well!
